I've been busy and have several ideas on the go and am starting to think about book dummies and illustrations.

But right now I am playing around with my inked drawings, using elements from a few of my Inktober drawings and doing some character studies. Fun.

Saturday I attended CANSCAIP's "Packaging Your Imagination" annual conference. CANSCAIP is the "Canadian Society of Children's Authors, Illustrators and Performers," much like the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). I'm a member of both and find Canscaip and SCBWI (apart from the awkward acronyms) to be invaluable. Anyways I went for the virtual option and attended via my computer, at home. I had to go out right afterwards so the virtual option worked out really well.

Got some great tips for using social media from Holly Kent which I found very helpful and enjoyed seeing Ashley Spires creative process and storyboards.  Love her work.

Of course thoroughly enjoyed my friend, Debbie Ohi's, workshop on building a personal brand. Great advice! (I set up an Instagram account and started using it), thanks Debbie!

Oh and here's how you looked on my computer! Loved your cartoons!

For those interested in writing and illustrating children's books, Debbie is a wealth of information and there's lots on her "inkygirl" site.

Apart from that I am trying to find more time to draw and jot down more ideas for picture books. Fun!
